Prompt Engineer

Sundew is a growing company with 18 years of expertise in Digital Transformation, excelling in Digital Strategy, CloudNative Application Development, AI, and Product Engineering. We are seeking a Prompt Engineer to enhance product functionality and user experience by crafting, testing, and optimizing prompts for large language models (LLMs) in collaboration with our AI/ML team, engineers, product managers, and data scientists.

Employment Type: Contractual

Working Hours: Must have partial overlap with EST time zone.

Key Responsibilities:

Prompt Design & Optimization:

• Design, test, and refine prompts for LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, Mistral) to ensure accurate and contextually relevant outputs.
• Conduct prompt tuning and A/B testing to enhance the performance, reliability, and user alignment of generative AI outputs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to identify new use cases where generative AI can enhance product experience.
• Participate in agile team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and ideation on generative AI solutions.

Evaluation & Documentation:

• Analyze model responses and user feedback to iterate on prompt effectiveness.
• Maintain detailed documentation of prompt iterations, testing outcomes, and optimization strategies.

Continuous Learning & Innovation:

• Stay informed on the latest advancements in generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering methodologies.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and knowledge sharing within the AI/ML team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Core Skills:

• Excellent command of English with strong writing, comprehension, and communication abilities.
• Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and a passion for experimenting and refining ideas.
• Hands-on familiarity with ChatGPT, Claude, or similar generative AI tools.
• Exposure to prompt design, human-computer interaction, or reinforcement learning.
• Familiarity with Python or basic scripting for prompt testing (preferred).
• Relevant background or certifications in UX Writing, Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, or related domains are a plus.
