Sr. WordPress Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to lead our web development projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building and maintaining complex WordPress websites, developing custom themes and plugins, and ensuring top-tier performance, security, and user experience. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable web solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Website Development- 

•  Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites with high-quality code.
•  Develop custom themes and plugins tailored to specific requirements.
•  Integrate responsive design principles for mobile-first development

Optimization & Performance-

• Optimize websites for speed, scalability, and performance.
• Implement best practices for SEO and user experience.
• Use tools like caching plugins, CDNs, and image compression for performance improvements.

Technical Implementation-

•  Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code adhering to WordPress coding  standards.
•  Implement integrations with third-party APIs, tools, and services.
•  Conduct thorough testing, including cross-browser and device compatibility checks.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance-

• Diagnose and resolve website issues, including plugin conflicts, errors, and bugs.
• Regularly update WordPress core, plugins, and themes to ensure security.
• Monitor website uptime, performance, and functionality.

Collaboration & Communication-

• Work closely with designers, content creators, and marketing teams to implement features.
• Participate in project planning and provide technical guidance to stakeholders.
• Document processes and technical workflows for knowledge sharing.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in WordPress Core, Strong understanding of hooks, filters, actions, and WordPress APIs.
• Hands-on experience with PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like jQuery or react.
• Proven ability to create custom themes and plugins from scratch.
• Knowledge of performance tools like Lighthouse, GTmetrix, and caching techniques.
• Familiarity with Git for collaborative workflows
• Expertise in mobile-first development using frameworks like Bootstrap or custom CSS.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
